Tyrese Gibson is in trouble for not paying his court-ordered child support. The court ordered him to pay $10,000 a month back in April 2023 for his 5-year-old daughter Soraya with his ex-wife Samantha Lee.
During a court hearing in Fulton County, the judge, Kevin Farmer, got frustrated with Tyrese for not paying the child support. The judge held Tyrese in contempt of court, had him handcuffed, and taken out of the courtroom.
Tyrese can avoid jail if he pays $73,000, including $7,500 for Samantha’s attorney fees. Tyrese had hinted at his arrest on Instagram, calling Samantha’s actions “goofy” and claiming he’s innocent. He mentioned a prenup from their 2020 divorce that he believes should cover everything.
He criticized Samantha’s lawyers for not asking to see his bank statements, which show he has been paying child support. Tyrese has been paying around $2,200 per month, much less than what the judge ordered.
Tyrese and Judge Farmer have a history of disputes, including one in 2022. Sources say Tyrese is working on paying the $73,000 to avoid remaining in custody for long. TMZ reports.
