The First Lady of Nigeria has advised women in the country to be true to themselves in a recent speech following Meghan Markle’s visit. She also criticized the revealing clothing worn by American celebrities.

At an event in Abuja marking the first year of her husband’s administration, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the wife of President Bola Tinubu, encouraged Nigerian teenagers and young people to dress modestly and avoid copying American movie stars.

Referred to as ‘mummy’ by some Nigerians, Senator Tinubu stressed the importance of guiding children and addressing the issue of revealing attire. She pointed out the prevalence of nudity in American culture, contrasting it with the more conservative style in Nigeria.

The First Lady emphasized the importance of rejecting nudity in Nigerian culture, stating that it is neither beautiful nor acceptable. While she did not directly criticize Meghan Markle, who recently visited Nigeria and interacted with young women, the First Lady’s remarks aimed to promote cultural values and modesty among Nigerian youth.
