Gwinnett County police are looking for a 7-year-old boy named Royal Marks because they believe his mother, Michelle Marks, took him without permission.
On Tuesday, the police were called to a home on Valley Bluff Lane in Snellville after Royal was reported missing. His father told the police that Michelle took Royal in the middle of the night.
Police think that Michelle, who is now wanted for kidnapping, might try to leave Georgia with Royal. She doesn’t have a car, but she may use ride-sharing services to get around.
Michelle lost custody of Royal in 2023 due to child neglect while they were living in Oklahoma. Royal is now living with his father in Georgia. The father mentioned that during a visit, family members heard Michelle say she would hurt herself if she lost custody completely in an upcoming court hearing.
Michelle is about 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighs around 140 pounds. She has used different names, including Michelle Jones, Michelle Legacy, and Michelle Young. Royal is about 4 feet 11 inches tall and weighs around 90 pounds. The last time he was seen, he was wearing a red long-sleeved shirt with white writing and jogger pants.
Michelle also has several arrest warrants in Oklahoma.
Police are asking anyone who knows anything to call detectives at 770-513-5300. If you want to stay anonymous, you can contact Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS (8477) or submit a tip online.
