A Columbus mother was arrested by the Columbus Police for allegedly breaking her 8-month-old son’s leg and bruising her 4-year-old daughter’s face.
The incident came to light when Rhodes’ daughter showed up at school with a bruised cheek on Feb. 14. Rhodes initially claimed that her daughter fell and hit her face, but on March 4, CPD officers were alerted to a report of child abuse at Piedmont Midtown Pediatric Emergency room.
The investigation revealed that Rhodes’ son had a fractured right femur and a healed fracture on his left femur, with Rhodes being held responsible for the right femur fracture. The Georgia Department of Family and Children Services took custody of Rhodes’ children, and she was arrested by CPD on charges of cruelty to children and family violence.
