A mother in Georgia is facing a felony murder charge after her 7- and 3-year-old daughters were found in the woods near a resort, resulting in the death of the younger girl due to exposure to freezing temperatures.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call from the mother, Uriha Ridge, who said she was lost with her children in the area. They were found after being in the woods for over 11 hours. Ridge is currently in custody without bond and is also facing charges of cruelty to children and possession of marijuana. The investigation revealed that Ridge had been consuming illicit drugs before and during the time she was in the woods with her daughters. The case is still under investigation.
