An 8-year-old girl ended up in the hospital with severe injuries after a mom’s dangerous game went wrong in Indiana.
Jasmine White, 27, is facing child neglect charges in South Bend for playing a risky game with her kids. According to reports from local NBC affiliate WNDU, White would pretend to leave her kids behind by locking them out of the car. During one of these episodes, her daughter’s foot got caught under the moving car, causing serious injuries.
The young girl suffered a fractured skull, orbital fractures, bruises, and a deep facial cut that reached the bone. She also lost five teeth during the incident. After several days in the hospital, including intubation and IV sedation, the girl has since been released.
White’s daughter described the game to investigators, revealing that her mom was driving faster than usual when the accident happened. Video footage showed White speeding up while her daughter was holding onto the car door handle, reaching speeds of 15 to 20 mph.
White is charged with neglect of a dependent resulting in serious injury and neglect of a dependent in a dangerous situation. She was scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
