Georgia’s temporary suspension of state gas taxes, which started on October 3 due to Hurricane Helene, is set to end at 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, October 16, according to Governor Brian Kemp’s office.

This tax break was designed to help residents manage their expenses in the aftermath of the hurricane. It applied to various types of fuel, including regular gasoline, clear diesel, aviation fuel, liquid propane, gasohol, ethanol, liquefied natural gas, and compressed natural.

The temporary measure was meant to help residents and businesses save money on gas and reduce the risk of fuel shortages.
