An at-home artificial insemination kit is being promoted in a controversial way by paying for ‘semen stealing’ video ads on Elon Musk’s platform, X.

The company ‘Make a Mom’ from Texas has flooded the platform with videos showing people retrieving used condoms from trash cans, with captions like ‘Making him a dad without his permission.’

Although the kit is meant to assist aspiring parents having difficulty conceiving, the ads focus on the legal loophole that ‘semen stealing’ is not illegal in the US. The kit, priced between $98.99 and $249.99, includes intracervical insemination devices, semen container cups, and fertility supplements. However, some customers have complained about not receiving the products they paid for.

When questioned about the provocative ads on X, the supposed CEO of ‘Make a Mom’ emphasized the importance of ‘consent’ and ‘moral integrity’ while mentioning a review of their marketing strategy.

The company, with anonymous staff, did not respond to inquiries regarding the controversial ads and online claims of their product being a ‘scam.’

The explicit posts were part of the paid advertising program on X, which has seen an influx of questionable ads following Musk’s unconventional policies and behavior. Concerns arise that such ads, including ‘semen stealing’ promotions, will persist as X aims to recover its lost revenue.

The controversial ads have sparked outrage and discussions on various platforms, with users questioning the legality and ethics of the practices promoted by ‘Make a Mom.’

The company’s shift in marketing tactics has drawn attention, moving away from previous associations with left-libertarian gender politics to focus on promoting the insemination kit.

‘Make a Mom’s CEO, known only as ‘Anthony,’ clarified that the provocative posts on X do not align with the company’s values, indicating a misunderstanding in their marketing approach.
