Parents in Utah have admitted to sexually assaulting their 15-year-old daughter for over a year because they believed it was safer for her than engaging in relations with strangers, as per court documents.
According to the Dailymail – The unidentified couple, in their 30s, were arrested in Provo, Utah, after the teenage girl reported that her step-father had been assaulting her for the past year and a half, according to the affidavit. The mother and step-father allegedly suggested having sexual encounters with the girl, stating that they had known her since birth.
Charged with forcible sodomy, sexual abuse, and object rape, the parents are being held without bail. The step-father also faces an additional rape charge. They claimed to have discovered the girl’s online interactions with strangers and decided that instructing her about sex and engaging in sexual acts with her was safer than her involvement with strangers.
The step-father confessed to purchasing sex toys for the girl, taking showers with her, and demonstrating how to use the toys. The mother admitted to engaging in sexual activities with her husband and daughter. The couple, who have four other children, are in custody due to the perceived risk they pose.
