The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has made public the body camera footage of a deputy-involved in the shooting incident that took place in Lancaster, California.
The incident occurred when officers responded to a domestic violence call made by Niani Finlayson, a 27-year-old mother. Tragically, Finlayson was shot and killed by an officer after she fired four shots at her on December 4. According to the LASD, Finlayson had called the police because she was being harassed by her boyfriend and wanted him to leave her apartment.
The Finlayson family has now taken legal action against the sheriff department on a multi-million dollar lawsuit, seeking justice for their loss.
