No matter how difficult a relationship may be, it’s never okay to hurt your family or yourself. We need to learn how to manage our emotions better, fellas.

A father is accused of killing his four-year-old son during an argument on Christmas Eve. Mark Jones, 30, allegedly shot his son, Jacobi Marcelle, in the head after the boy asked to leave his mother’s bedroom. The incident took place at their home in Baltimore, Maryland. Jones also injured the boy’s mother, Promyss Marcelle, and a one-year-old baby. He then shot himself in an apparent suicide attempt but survived.

Jones has been charged with first-degree murder, attempted murder, child abuse, and assault. After the tragedy, Promyss started a GoFundMe page to raise money for her son’s burial and to support her family. She shared heartbreaking details about the shooting, saying, “On Christmas Eve at 6:30 am, my son and daughter were shot by their father. I was shot in the head and am lucky to be alive, but my son did not survive. Losing him is the hardest thing I’ve ever faced.”

She expressed her deep pain and said she is trying to stay strong for her daughter, who also got hurt but is alive.

Police responded to the shooting around 6:35 am on December 24 and found the victims with gunshot wounds. They were taken to a hospital, where Jacobi was pronounced dead. A funeral was held for him, and family friends shared loving memories of the boy, describing him as bright and full of joy. Promyss told mourners that she is determined to keep Jacobi’s memory alive and continue for the sake of her daughter. Friends also shared their grief on social media, remembering Jacobi as a special part of their lives.
