The father of the 14-year-old boy accused of shooting and killing two teachers and two students in a Georgia school was arrested. Colin Gray, the suspect’s father, was charged with second-degree murder, as well as four counts of involuntary manslaughter and eight counts of cruelty to children, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI).

The arrest took place on Wednesday, and the GBI announced it during a press conference on Thursday evening. GBI Director Chris Hosey described this as a difficult time for the community and urged everyone to remain vigilant.

Sheriff Jud Smith of Barrow County stated that all nine individuals who were injured in the incident, including two teachers and seven students, are expected to fully recover.

Marcee Gray, the mother of the suspect, has a criminal record spanning over 17 years and four counties, with charges including domestic violence, drug possession, property damage, traffic violations, and civil fraud claims related to a vehicle purchase. She was in jail in Ben Hill County as recently as April.
