Dad gives his 4-month-old son gasoline to drink, hoping to kill the infant

A man from Texas is in trouble for giving his newborn gasoline to drink in an attempt to kill the baby, police reported.

Edgar James Bridgemon, 24, was taken into custody in Paris, Texas on August 10 and charged with attempted capital murder. The incident happened around noon on Saturday when police were called to a home to assist EMS medics.

They were informed that the father of the 4-month-old baby had given the infant gasoline to drink. Bridgemon was seen trying to flee the scene by officers and was apprehended about a block away. During questioning, he confessed to giving the child gasoline in an attempt to harm the baby.
