A 20-year-old college student, Steven Harris, was found dead in Wilkinson County, Miss. after missing a custody hearing for his son. Police reported he had multiple gunshot wounds. Three suspects, Allyah Martin, Derek Terrell Hollins Jr., and Calajia Jack, were arrested on charges of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder. Hollins also faces a charge for possession of a machine gun. At the time of his death, Harris shared a son with Martin. The suspects’ pleas and legal representation are not immediately known.

Harris, a Southern University student from Francisville, La., went missing on July 17 and was expected in court the following day. His body was found a week later on July 23. A GoFundMe page was created to support his family and son. Harris was a member of the Human Jukebox, studying criminal justice and aspiring to be a great father.

The fundraising page aims to cover funeral costs and support Harris’ son, as his family plans to seek custody. The West Feliciana Parish Sheriff’s Office believes the suspects conspired to lure Harris to Mississippi to commit the crime. They are held at the West Feliciana Parish Jail, awaiting extradition to Mississippi for charges.
