A man from Houston has been given two life sentences in prison this week for severely hurting two small children over two years. Victor Prado, 45, was found guilty of beating the kids, tying them up with zip ties, and not giving them enough food in 2019 and 2020.
District Attorney Kim Ogg said that Prado purposely hurt the children and now he will likely be in prison for the rest of his life. Prado owned a moving company in a commercial office building in southwest Houston. He was dating a woman with a three-year-old and a four-year-old, and they all lived in the building.
A witness reported to police that the building was not suitable for kids because it did not have a kitchen or a shower. The witness also said that the couple would leave the building at night without the children and sometimes the kids could be heard screaming at night. The witness had made a complaint to child protective services earlier that month.
