A man in eastern Alabama has been sentenced to death for the rape and murder of a 5-year-old girl nearly three years ago. After a three-day trial, a jury found 39-year-old Jeremy Tremain Williams guilty of four counts of capital murder in the tragic case of Kamarie Holland. Her body was discovered by police in a vacant home in Phenix City, close to the Georgia-Alabama state line.

In addition to the murder charges, Williams was found guilty of other serious offenses, including sodomy, sexual abuse of a child, production of obscene material involving a child, human trafficking, conspiracy to commit human trafficking, and abuse of a corpse. Despite pleading guilty, Alabama law required a jury to confirm his guilt beyond a reasonable doubt before the death sentence was handed down by Circuit Court Judge David Johnson.

Following the sentencing, Williams was transferred to Holman Correctional Facility, where the state’s death row inmates are housed. The tragic circumstances of Kamarie’s death revealed that she was sold by her mother to Williams for $2,500 for one hour of sexual abuse.

The child’s grandmother had reported her missing before her body was found, showing signs of sexual abuse and asphyxiation. Williams and the child’s mother, Kristy Siple, were indicted on charges related to the girl’s death. Siple was charged with human trafficking for agreeing to allow her child to be sexually abused for payment.

While Siple pleaded guilty to human sex trafficking and faces up to 20 years in prison, Williams received the death penalty. The victim’s father expressed relief that justice was finally served, emphasizing that his daughter would not be forgotten.
