A woman in Oakland County has been arrested and charged with first-degree child abuse for abandoning her three #children and leaving them to live alone in a house for years. The #judge set her bail at – $250 million – because the judge believes she might run away if released. The Sheriff supports this high bail, saying it reflects the seriousness of what happened to the children.

The woman, #KelliBryant, left her three children, ages 12, 13, and 15, in a terrible living situation. The house was described as filthy, with piles of garbage, mold, and human waste. The landlord contacted the authorities after not hearing from Bryant for months and realizing the rent hadn’t been paid in a while.

When #police arrived, they found the children had been living alone for a few years, ever since their mother abandoned them. They survived on #food that was sometimes left on the porch, either by their mother or strangers. They had no #hygieneproducts and hadn’t been to #school during this time.
